Optician & Eyewear Specialist
The optician provides care for patients with prescriptions, conducts eye exams, assembles and adjusts glasses, while also managing the commercial side of their shop.
The Optician and Eyewear Specialist can work in an optical store, a visual health center, or open their own optical shop. This professional assists clients in selecting frames and lenses suited to their visual needs and style. They may also be involved in the fabrication and adjustment of glasses.
The BTS in Optician and Eyewear Specialist is a two-year program, available through traditional academic paths or work-study programs. It can be followed by a Bachelor’s degree (Bac +3) at a university.
For over 20 years, our Optics and Eyewear schools have offered a comprehensive training program, including the BTS Optician and, more recently, the Professional Bachelor’s Degree. This is delivered through Partnership Agreements with the universities of Nîmes and Saclay.
