Healthcare Assistants
Their training is conducted within Institutes of Healthcare Assistant Training (IFAS), institutions regulated and approved by the Regional Authorities.
The role of a healthcare assistant involves caring for patients, assisting them with their daily activities, and working closely with the healthcare team. Given the age demographics in France, the demand for nursing assistants remains high, with employability close to 100%.
Primarily offered as a work-study program, the training lasts approximately 10 months and leads to the State Diploma of Healthcare Assistant (DEAS). This course covers topics such as hygiene care, nursing techniques, anatomy and physiology, psychology, ethics, communication, and legislation.
Practical placements are undertaken in various healthcare departments, including surgery, geriatrics, paediatrics, psychiatry, and home care.
The IFAS are subject to regional approval to operate.
We currently have an institute in Lognes (77), which offers training for the State Diploma of Healthcare Assistant (DEAS) as well as an Experience Validation Program, both of which are also subject to approval.
